Scott Patterson said he felt unwelcome in his participation in the "Gilmore Girls" episode "Keg! Max!" on his podcast "I Am All In with Scott Patterson."
"Objectifying somebody's body part -- that was disturbing," Patterson said to hosts Amy Sugarman and Danielle Romo about the incident.
Patterson played the role of diner proprietor Luke Danes in the series. In 2003, in season 3 episode 19, the main characters,
Lorelai and Gilmore ( Lauren Graham) and Sookie St. James ( Melissa McCarthy) discuss their character's
backsides for a long time following Sookie accidentally rubbing the area. The episode begins with a long shot of Patterson at the 8:20 minute mark in the show.
"I realized it wasn't OK, and it didn't make me feel comfortable at all. It made me feel really embarrassed, actually," Patterson declared.
It's extremely frustrating because you're treated as an object. It's a bit disturbing and infuriating and I had to endure
it through the entire scene and several takes," he said. "It was all about the butt, the andt, the butt, and the butt.
Patterson stated that the remarks made regarding his back did slow down when camera stopped.
"When we weren't filming, we were sitting down -- people were still talking about the butt, the butt, the butt," he said.
