The former NFL Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is officially entering the world of football media.

Larry Fitzgerald's New job

Fitzgerald was selected as an analyst on ESPN Monday Night Countdown. He'll debut in the first week.

"Monday Night Football is a huge reason so many people fall in love with the game...it's surreal to be a part of that tradition," Fitzgerald wrote in tweets that confirmed the report.

Fitzgerald did not officially retire from playing, but his fans seem to be excited about his joining the ranks of the Worldwide Leader.

Fitzgerald's first day on the job will be this one and he'll assist in preparing the week 1 game with teams like the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos.

ESPN also announced Robert Griffin III for Monday Night Countdown during the summer. He will replace Randy Moss.
