J.K. Rowling has addressed her exclusion from Harry Potter Special Reunion.

J.K. Rowling Opens up Wasn't in 'Harry Potter' Reunion

In the spring of this year, actors such as Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint,

'Harry Potter' Reunion

and many others gathered for Harry Potter's 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts premiered in the US on HBO Max.

While a large portion of the actors took part in the reunion program, however, the author of 57 didn't take part in the reunion,

and many people thought she wasn't there due to her controversial comments regarding gender and the trans community.

"I had the opportunity to take part on the panel, but I decided not to be on it," J.K. told host Graham Norton on Virgin Radio Saturday.

"I thought it was more about the movies than the books, and quite correctly. The anniversary was all about."

She said, "No one said don't do it. ]...I was given the option to do it but I decided not to."
