Dwayne Johnson is rooting for The Mummy Returns co-star Brendan Fraser's success after his return in The Whale.

The Mummy actor has made a comeback to fame for Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky's new film.

He portrays a man who is obese and morbidly overweight who is struggling for a way to connect with his child. The role is played by Sadie Sink.

The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday night, and it received the audience's attention for six minutes. at which point Fraser was clearly emotional.

Johnson who made his film debut along with Fraser In The Mummy Returns shared clips of the momentous ovation on Twitter.

He also expressed his delight at his co-star's return. "Man this makes me so happy to see this beautiful ovation for Brendan," tweets the actor.

"He was supportive of me when I entered the Mummy Returns franchise for my first role ever which launched my Hollywood career.
