Dove Cameron won the VMAs, and she made use of her speech to make a difference! The 26-year-old actress and singer were awarded the prize for
the Most New Talent in the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night (August 28) at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Dove has made a massive impact on the music scene by releasing her single "Boyfriend," which reached 16th at the top of the Billboard Hot 100,
and her new single "Breakfast." She p performed both songs at the VMAs' show's pre-show prior to the evening.
In her acceptance speech, Dove gave the award to her fans who are queer. If you don't know, she came out as bisexual in the past few years.
I would like to dedicate this song to all queer kids out in the world, who aren't sure that they are able to fill space and be the whole of what they're made of.
Thank you for bringing an explicit queer track on the mainstream airwaves," Dove declared during her speech.
